Our Story
QLD Cut & Core is a Gladstone-based industrial concrete cutting company founded by Jake Simmons. Although the QLD Cut & Core brand is relatively new to the scene, we’ve been working behind the scenes for around 5 years via our parent company, Simmons Civil. In 2022, a separate brand was established for QCC, making it easier than ever for customers to book our specialised equipment for specific jobs.
Our team has a range of concrete cutting, drilling, and grinding tools at our disposal, so we can use equipment with the precision needed for your job. We have advanced cutting technology that enables maximum control, accuracy, and safety. Plus, equipment that can produce cuts up to 500mm deep, and drill as far as 420mm below the surface.

Jake Simmons
Director, QLD Cut & Core
A Gladstone local with more than a decade of experience in civil construction, Jake Simmons leads the QLD Cut & Core team. Well known and respected in the industry, Jake also heads up QCC's parent company, Simmons Civil. He founded QCC to make our advanced concrete cutting equipment and capabilities more accessible to clients, and enable his team to offer end-to-end concreting services.
Outside of work, Jake is kept busy with his three young children — and enjoys a spot of fishing, when he can find the time!
